POSITION TITLE: Adult Information and Young Adult Services Manager
DUTIES: The Adult Information and Young Adult Services Manager provides department management, project management, staff supervision, and direct customer services in a medium sized public library. This position manages adult information services, adult and teen public computer services, and teen collection development and programming, as well as local history department.
QUALIFICATIONS: MLS/MIS required; ability to provide reference services with modern tools; advanced computer literacy skills, including knowledge of and familiarity in using the Internet, Windows, and Microsoft software products; experience working with teens; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with others; ability to plan, oversee, and implement tasks on time and within budget; analytical skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and time management; excellent supervisory skills; and excellent customer services skills. Applicant must possess or be able to obtain a North Carolina Public Librarian certificate and a valid NC driver’s license.
Duration of work: 40 hours per week to include nights and weekends.
